About

As you've hopefully figured out by now, my name is Ian, so welcome to my website! This is a place where I have just decided to collect some of my thoughts. Every now and then something will pop into my head that I think might be helpful for other people, so this is where those go.

I'll write about a whole bunch of different things here; you'll find that I love the Bible and related topics, but I also want to talk about some of my experiences and how they inform how I see the world. I'll try not to geek out too much, but it's bound to happen.

A little bit about me, I'm a California native, but I live in Seattle with my wife, Brittanie, and our dog, Laura. We moved here a couple years ago when I accepted a position as Teaching Pastor at CityLight Church. It's been a blast, and although we miss the weather, we love Seattle.

I'm also a perpetual student. Not one to take things easy, I'm in an MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University and an MA in Biblical and Theological Studies at Western Seminary. The former is just about done, and the latter will be finished in a year with a concentration in Hebrew Exegesis. All that to say, I'm serious about the Bible and think it's awesome.

If that's not enough, I have about three dozen different houseplants that I treat like children, and I'm into specialty coffee (Camber and Coava are two of my favorite roasters). If I'm not doing something school or church related, it's a good possibility I'm doing something with these when I should be doing something school or church related. Or, I'm binging something on Netflix.

That's just a bit about me, but honestly my goal is really just to share some things that have either helped me, or that I just find to be neat. Poke around, and hopefully something here is a help!
